Hi! Ok, so there isn't the best internet connections in the middle of no where in Iowa. Tuesday was Indianola. It was a long day with lots of hills!
Yesterday, was a shorter ride, 44 miles, and very pleasant.
Last night, we camped out and heard the partying until about 2:30am, and the the thunderstorms came shortly after. Needless to say, last night, sleep wasn't the best.
Today, the girls are riding from Chariton to Ottumwa. I am at the meeting spot in Morovia. Sorry about not getting any posts. Some of the pictures that I am sharing prove that it takes ALL kinds to ride RAGBRAI, and all types of people ride in RAGBRAI.

These are pictures from the first official day of RAGBRAI. We left Council Bluffs about 9:00am. We rode through Mineola, Henderson, and Emerson. We then traveled on to Red Oak. The total distance was about 52 miles and the elevation was about 5,000 feet.
We had popsicles, toll house cookie pie, sweet corn, smoothies, lemonade, pork chop. AND rode! There were over 15,000 riding. I sat in Emerson for about 5 hours waiting for the Denice, Chris, and her mom. I watched many wonderful, interesting people along the way.
Tomorrow is a long day. It's about 77 miles. Please continue to pray for us all!

Well, we made it to Council Bluffs. There are approximately 15,000 riders registered to ride the first leg of Ragbrai to Red Oak tomorrow. But they are guessing about 5,000 more that will just ride without registering.
The EXPO was today with a lot of T-shirts and bike stuff. The bridge in the picture is the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian bridge. Denice, Chris, and Diana rode across it. Instead of the tire "dip" they rode across the Missouri River.
We are planning in unloading and starting RAGBRAI about 8:00 in the morning. PRAY FOR
US!!!!
